CHARLIE JOE
" He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God." (Psa. 40:3a)
Charlie Joe (Charles Joseph) was born this morning! He weighed 6 lbs., 1 oz., which means he gained another 1 lb., 3 oz. in his last 2 weeks! He is HEALTHY IN EVERY WAY! His apgar score was 9.9, which is as high as they give in Colorado (something about the altitude). We are all very aware of the power of prayer in his health, and we can't thank you enough for praying. Shannon is doing great, too, but please pray for her to heal quickly!
I was so surprised when Jody came out to the waiting room carrying him just a few minutes after he was born! It's so different from our last experience! Charlie is nursing like crazy and has the best lungs in the hospital, according to the nurses. He gets really mad when they take him away from mom and dad, so they bring him right back. They're rooming in, and Joe and I are going to pick up Shannon's boys from preschool and put their "I'm a big brother" shirts on them and take them up to meet him soon.
Thanks again for praying for him! Please spread the good news, like it says in this promise Mark gave me when I was so upset back on April 30--
"They will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works." (Psa. 145:5)
We are here in Colorado enjoying him, and we'll be home next Thursday. Meanwhile, I'm sure I'll write updates and post pictures every night on my blog.
