For the Record

Charlie's whole name is Joseph Charlie Hickey, and he's the fourth generation of Joes! Joe's grandfather was Grandpa Joe, and Jody's real name is Joseph, too.
(I'm writing that little-known fact here for posterity. I print and save my blog entries about Charlie in a scrapbook.)
We'll start home in the morning and make a two-day trip of it. May return home through Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Amarillo.
We've gotta get home Tuesday so we can have LAINEY DAY again Wednesday! I miss her!

I'm In Grandmother Heaven!!!

We spend a LOT of time here in Denver at the neighborhood playground! Sometimes it's just me with the three boys, which is fun but wears me out. However, this afternoon Jody got me a massage--aah!!

We Made It!

Kansas was more interesting than usual, but we were still glad to say, "Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore!"

Lamar, Colorado, that is!

Charlie was his usual happy self!

It's great to see him again!

Dodge City

We stopped at Dodge City today, but then we decided to get the heck out of Dodge and push on to Garden City.

Tomorrow we'll get to say, "Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore."

I can't wait to get to Colorado and see Charlie!

Lainey and Larry's Pizza

A couple of weeks ago when Daddy was in Las Vegas for a computer convention, Mommy brought me to Clarksville, and we went to Larry's Pizza.

I found out I like Larry's Pizza almost as much as Grammy does!

I wasn't really old enough for the arcade, but I had fun pretending.

Soon I'll be old enough to get toys there!

Stock Market

You know, the stock market really went down a LOT lately. That's one of those "rich people problems" that I'm glad I don't have to worry about.

I agree with Paul. He said, "With food and clothing, I will be content." I got a whole case of Healthy Choice dinners at ConAgra today for six bucks, and my skinny clothes fit, so I'M GOOD!

Lainey's Trip to Little Rock

I visited Daddy's office today (the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce). I liked all the glass!

Charlie at McDonald's Playland

Charlie looks exactly like Jody did at that age! Monday would have been Madeline's 10th birthday, and I think Jody was wise to stay home from work and play with Charlie that day. It was still a sad day, but being with Charlie had to cheer him up!

Hurricane Gustav

Gustav didn't exactly come here, but it sure sent a lot of wind and rain to Arkansas! Yesterday the electricity went off at Lainey's house and it started getting hot, so we stripped her down and Papaw took her (and her ducks!) for basket rides around the house.
